Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is the next installment in the legendary series of games which dates back to the 80’s of the 20th century. New Castlevania tells us a story of Gabriel Belmont, a member of the Brotherhood of Light, who sets off on a dangerous journey to defeat three Lords of Shadow. However, fighting with the forces of Evil is not his only goal. Gabriel seeks a powerful artifact – the Mask of God. He wants to use its power to resurrect his murdered wife, whose soul cannot rest in Heaven. Evil monsters are not the only creatures encountered by Gabriel during his quest. Some of the characters will offer him advice and help. Or maybe they just want to use him for their own hidden agendas?

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a typical console hack’n’slash which takes liberally from other best-selling action-adventure games, including God of War, Prince of Persia and Shadow of the Colossus. LoS was created by the Mercury Steam studio, and I have to admit that those Spanish guys really went to town on this game. Gabriel travels through beautiful, carefully prepared areas, and some of his enemies will haunt you in your nightmares for a long time.
